It’s been less than a week since The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2 dropped on Hulu, but it seems to be all anybody can talk about. One of the issues fans reacted to is the family confrontation between Taylor Frankie Paul and her loved ones.
Taylor had been having trouble forgiving her baby daddy, Dakota Mortensen, for cheating on her and lying about it. In Episode 2, Taylor’s mom Liann staged a family intervention to get Taylor to forgive Dakota. Even though they may not be together, they still have a son to co-parent and need to get along.
Not only was Taylor shocked that her family staged the intervention, but she wanted no part of it or Dakota. But Taylor’s mom was insistent, and everyone jumped in to support her. What ensued was a massive fight between Taylor and her whole family. It was messy.

At one point, Taylor admitted that she and Dakota had only gone out three times before they slept together. Taylor’s stepdad Jeremy jumped on the opportunity to slut shame his daughter.
“You guys had seen each other three times before all this,” he shouted. “And then you’re sitting there telling me that he came over and had sex with you?! What does that say about you?”
Taylor’s mom and her sister also got in their jabs. But the ultimate goal was to get Taylor to make peace with Dakota. They have a son to raise and need to be able to cooperate, even if they don’t live together.
The fight surprised many viewers, prompting some of them to call out the family’s behavior as toxic. “Sometimes when your whole family is toxic,” one wrote on Taylor’s TikTok, “you end up feeling like the crazy one. But you’re not the crazy one … Sending love and healing.”
“I appreciate this,” Taylor replied. “I love my family so much, and they personally have been through a lot since young ages … [They] just need to find their healing too.”
In response to all the comments, Taylor made a statement on her Instagram Stories defending her family. “I know this is a harsh scene,” she wrote. “[But] my FAMILY is my biggest support system … They have held me at my lowest EVERY TIME … We all cried watching.”
In the meantime, Liann’s own Instagram has been blowing up with comments from fans critical of her family’s treatment of their daughter. She has yet to respond.
