Another Love Island USA contestant just landed themselves in legal trouble. The last time this happened, it was because Hannah Smith got out of control at a Gracie Abrams concert and tried to attack a cop. They charged her with making terroristic threats.
This latest Love Island USA case involves Cashel Barnett, and the allegations are much darker. According to police records, he attacked his ex in front of their child. The details are disturbing.
Love Island USA’s Cashel Barnett is in prison
You’ll remember Cashel from Season 1 of Love Island USA and The Challenge USA. He was an early out in both seasons, and after these latest charges, we can assume that his reality TV career is over.
According to TMZ, police issued a felony warrant for Cashel after he allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend in front of their 1-year-old daughter. The police records accuse him of slapping the victim before picking her up in the air by her neck, strangling her with both hands until she nearly passed out.
After the incident, it took a week for him to get behind bars. The cops issued a felony warrant, and he eventually turned himself in to police. From there, he was booked into the Salt Lake City jail, where he’s being held without bail. There’s a hearing set for this week to determine if he should be eligible.
