In the upcoming Bravo series Next Gen NYC, we’re going to watch Riley Burruss step out from her mom’s shadow and take on the Big Apple. We’re excited to see her after watching her grow up on Real Housewives of Atlanta, but this show has a lot of fans wondering what exactly Riley is doing in New York. Apparently, she’s not just there for the show.
Believe it or not, Riley is not just in New York spending her mom’s money and banking on a reality TV career. She’s got some major goals in mind for the next phase of her life.

Ahead of the upcoming premiere of Next Gen NYC, Bravo’s The Daily Dish spoke with Riley about her career plans. She graduated from NYU in 2024 with a music business degree. Now, she’s studying for the LSAT and preparing for law school.
“I want to get that and then my business degree,” she shared with the outlet. “So I’m trying to study for both. It’s a lot.”
Although starring in a reality show with a bunch of influencers will open even more doors for Riley, she told Bravo that her “main priority” is studying for the LSAT. She wants to get a good score and then go to Columbia. She also said she plans on spending some time focusing on herself. This girl has her head on straight, just like her superstar mom.
She said, “You know, I’m only 22, so I feel like there’s a lot of self-work that would be very needed at this age of your life. And I just want to make sure I’m doing the best I can with myself.”
Next Gen NYC premieres Tuesday, June 3 at 9/8c on Bravo.
