It’s not every day that you see a reality TV contestant become a reality TV host, but Chloe Veitch is doing it with Netflix’s new series, Sneaky Links: Dating After Dark. After competing on pretty much every single Netflix reality show, she’s stepping into the hosting role.
If you didn’t see that coming, it sounds like neither did Chloe. She recently shared that she was feeling a major sense of imposter syndrome when she started the job. You’d have no idea from watching her.
Reality star Chloe Veitch hosts Netflix’s Sneaky Links: Dating After Dark
When we said that Chloe has appeared on pretty much every single Netflix reality show, we meant it. She won the first season of Too Hot To Handle and was a runner-up on The Circle. Then, she appeared on Perfect Match Season 1 and made it far on that show, too.
Sneaky Links: Dating After Dark is a messy new take on the reality dating genre, where the contestants already have history. Each person on the cast has an existing situatonship with someone else on the cast. Wild, right?
During a recent appearance on Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey, Chloe admitted that she was “sh*tting” her pants before filming started. She felt terrified of stepping into the hosting role and thought she would flop.
“To be honest with you, I think the original lead-up to me hosting the show, I was crying every day. I’d panic attack,” Chloe confessed.
She continued, “I called my doctor. I was like, ‘I think I’ve got depression. I don’t know what’s going on. My body’s like screaming at me right now.’”
According to Chloe, she feared she wouldn’t be “respected” as a host because of her history of being a mess on reality TV. Those feelings all went away when she got to set. She immediately saw a bunch of producers and executives she knew from past shows. They helped her build her confidence, and she was reminded that Netflix hired her for a reason. It turned out that the hardest part was having to read a script and listen to instructions from the producers in an earpiece.
Chloe recalled, “As soon as the camera started rolling, it was the fear of the transition of me just being myself and actually tying that into a script that was the most difficult.”
Sneaky Links: Dating After Dark is streaming on Netflix.
