According to some reports, Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, did not attend due to a rift. However, US Weekly exclusively learned from a source that other factors sparked the family fallout. The insider shared that at the center of the estrangement is “very deep tension rooted in control and different plans for Brooklyn’s future.” The source said, “David and Victoria are used to being in control [of situations like this] and there has been a shift.” However, the dynamics changed after Brooklyn tied the knot with Nicola, who also “comes from a powerful family,” in 2022.
The insider explained that Nicola and Brooklyn have a “mutual desire” for the former to “explore his interests and grow as a person.” They added, “That is what is causing the family rift.” Meanwhile, Brooklyn’s absence from his father’s birthday celebrations resulted from him feeling “discouraged and disheartened.” The source explained that in recent years, there were attempts to “set boundaries with his family and encourage honest and positive change in their relationship.” However, the efforts allegedly did not “avail.”
