Hoda Kotb Reveals if She Will Be Hosting ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’

Hoda Kotb has been loved by many for her hosting skills on the “Today” show. The anchor left viewers disheartened when she left the show at the beginning of the year. Many speculated that the broadcast journalist would soon be hosting “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” However, Hoda Kotb has now set the record straight about these rumors in her recent interview as she returned to Studio 1A to promote her new wellness venture, Joy 101.

Hoda Kotb dismisses rumors she will be hosting Kelly Clarkson’s show

After Hoda Kotb ended her co-hosting reign on “Today” show in January, rumors emerged that she would replace Kelly Clarkson as host of her daytime talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” During her interview with NBC’s “Today” show on May 28, Kotb finally put the speculations to rest by addressing the important question.

Kotb returned to the NBC morning show to promote her new wellness venture, Joy 101. At one point, her replacement, Craig Melvin, took the opportunity to ask if the rumors about replacing Kelly Clarkson were true. Replying to his question, the former host said, “I want to ask you all a real question. Do you think that if I ever came back to TV… do you know the only place I would ever come back to is? Right here, this is the spot.” She further added, “There’s no place like home.”

Dismissing the rumors further, Kotb swiftly said, “Delete, not true.” Hearing the good news, host Savannah Guthrie teased her pal, saying, “I thought you were because I know you’ve been playing your guitar and singing a lot lately, and I thought that maybe felt like, ‘I’m ready for some Hodaoke,'” referencing Clarkson’s popular “Kellyoke” segment. But the television personality said that’s not the case. She added that her upcoming appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” next week is “just for fun.”

Instead of hosting, the former “Today” show anchor is now focusing on her new business venture, Joy 101. Her new wellness company will be dedicated to promoting wellness, mindfulness, and joy. Kotb’s decision to step down as co-host came after her younger daughter, Hope, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2023.
