For Livvy Dunne, her Sports Illustrated (SI) Swimsuit cover was far too precious to let an injury disrupt her shoot. The former LSU gymnast opened up about her journey to Bermuda to shoot the cover for the popular publication in an Instagram video. Taking her fans through the experience, she revealed how posing for photos wasn’t a completely pleasant experience because of her fractured kneecap. However, Dunne expressed that despite injury, the SI Swimsuit shoot was “worth it.”
Livvy Dunne didn’t let her injury get in the way of her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit shoot
Livvy Dunne took to Instagram on May 19 to share a behind-the-scenes look at her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit (SI) cover photoshoot with her fans. The gymnast proved why she is a professional when it comes to modeling for photoshoots. She didn’t let her broken kneecap get in the way of her shoot, resulting in some sultry bikini photos that were in tune with the publication’s animal-print theme for this year.
Dunne recalled flying to Bermuda for 24 hours with her mom. After taking in the breathtaking views, the TikTok sensation reached the photoshoot’s location. She then tried on different animal-print bikinis in the video, claiming that she didn’t know the shoot was for the cover. The star shared that she woke up early to get her glam before proceeding with the photoshoot.
The video then captured Dunne striking several bold poses in a leopard bikini and an asymmetrical zebra-print bikini that ultimately made it to the Sports Illustrated (SI) Swimsuit cover. This is when the gymnast opened up about posing for the pictures at the Bermuda beach with her injury. She said, “Fun fact, I was shooting on a fractured kneecap so poses like this and the cover shot kind of hurt… But it was honestly so worth it.”
Dunne announced her injury on social media on March 6, leaving her unable to compete at the remaining LSU gymnastics competition. Despite a broken kneecap, she was able to tick the SI Swimsuit cover off her wishlist, gracing the page with a stunning look. Earlier this month, the gymnast shared her achievement with her followers, claiming she had a “pinch me” moment upon seeing herself on the cover.
