Usually, when you start watching a Bravo series, you quickly realize the men don’t often fight. The same can (usually) be said for The Valley. The group of guys were all friends when they entered the chat in Season 1. But recently, Danny Booko and Jason Caperna have not been seeing eye to eye. So, where has it all gone wrong?

Why are Jason Caperna and Danny Booko fighting?

Let’s start at the very beginning, as they say. Jason and Danny, in my opinion, always seemed like the most level-headed. Neither one would lash out in anger, and both often came across as the voice of reason. After a Halloween party where Danny had blacked out, the group, especially Jason, took issue with his behavior. The Valley fans quickly learned that there was an incident where Danny told Jasmine Goode to “get daddy a drink” and allegedly touched her fiancé, Melissa Carelli. Danny sat down with the couple to apologize twice, but Jason felt his friend lacked responsibility. The lawyer evidently wanted a better apology for the incident, even though it was never his place to ask for one.

While in Santa Barbara, Janet Caperna accused Danny of sneaking into the pantry to take a drink of tequila. Danny noted that everyone was doing it, but Jason was upset that his wife was made to feel uncomfortable. In the last episode, the guys met up for burgers, and Jason went on to annihilate the voice-over actor’s character. The conversation was awkward and left fans wondering if there was a friendship to salvage.

Danny Booko calls Jason Caperan a puppet

After the heated lunch conversation, Danny walked away feeling as if he really didn’t have a friend in Jason. While on The Valley: After Show, he explained in further detail his new issues with Jason. “I was like, ‘What are you trying to say here?’ And he was just all over the place, trying to do this, trying to say that, and then he was getting really frustrated, and I couldn’t get out a sentence, and his veins [were] popping out,” Danny recalled. The father of three under three noted, “For him to come at me as hard as he was, I was very surprised and caught off guard.”

Danny went so far as to say he believed that it was Janet who “probably sent Jason to attack me to keep the heat on me.” Danny then added, “I think that’s why he was so awkward while doing it. He was being a puppet.” Most would agree with Danny’s observations, as it has been noted that Janet often likes to find herself in the middle of the drama. During Season 1, Jason often kept his opinions to himself. It very much feels like Janet is pulling the strings in their relationship.

Jason Caperna thinks Danny Booko is a liar

Naturally, Jason doesn’t agree with Danny’s take. Instead, he is pointing his finger at the Booko’s marriage. Jason noted, “Maybe that speaks more to him and Nia’s relationship. But Janet doesn’t tell me what to say or do. And I listen, Janet and I don’t strategize about how to take people down.” But the footage would argue differently. Janet added her two cents, noting that she likes people to think she has “that much power. Jason is his own person. I guess it’s convenient for Danny to say, like, ‘Janet just controls Jason and puts words in his mouth.’ No. Your behavior was so inappropriate that Jason had his own strong opinion about it.”

Kristen Doute has also offered a bit of insight, sharing she has seen a change in Jason. The mother-to-be revealed, “The things that I’ve seen out of Jason in the last two years have been Janet chirping in his ear … The way he talks to people and handles situations now is not like the Jason that I’ve ever known,” she explained. “Even when we were really good friends, Janet’s always like gossipy, catty, louder, Jason’s not.” At least for now, it seems like most people are Team Danny. But that can always change.

The Valley is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
