Part 1 of the Summer House Season 9 reunion was brutal for Lexi Wood. The newcomer has support from some of the public, but her cast clearly sides with Jesse Solomon. They laughed about his indiscretions and downplayed her feelings. It felt as though Lexi was totally alone on that stage. I couldn’t help but sympathize with the Summer House newbie. It was hard watching Lexi process her failed romance while the cast snickered at Jesse’s bad behavior.
Here is why I’m #TeamLexi after watching Part 1 of the Summer House reunion.
The Summer House cast invalidated Lexi Wood’s feelings
Jesse’s visit to Imrul Hassan’s room was one of the most talked about moments from Season 9. One weekend when Lexi was away visiting family, Jesse chose to enter Imrul’s room while he was … um … entertaining (?) two women. Jesse spent 37 minutes in the room, but claimed he only got his toe sucked by one of the women. The infamous night came up at the reunion and the cast was pretty cavalier about the whole thing. Jesse said the two naked women in Imrul’s room were “very happy to see [him],” joking about the ordeal that led to his breakup with Lexi. The cast laughed along while Lexi sat there quietly. It was pretty awkward.
Everyone on the couch, excluding Lexi and Gabby Prescod, seemed to view Jesse’s actions as harmless, breezing over the fact that he was supposed to be in an exclusive relationship with Lexi at the time. Something tells me that if a guy treated Ciara Miller or Paige DeSorbo like that, there would be hell to pay.
The women don’t have Lexi Wood’s back
The Summer House women have built their brands on being “for the girls,” but their lack of support for Lexi this summer was pretty evident. They were friendly and supportive to her face, but then joked about her “weird” relationship with Jesse behind her back. When Lexi went away for the weekend, Amanda Batula tried to set Jesse up with Ciara. When Lexi was informed about Jesse and Ciara’s flirtatious weekend, she went to the girls for insight. She said she thought Jesse and Ciara had a brother-sister dynamic, so she wasn’t worried about the rumored flirting. Rather than being honest with Lexi, the girls said nothing. Then, in a confessional, Paige laughed at Lexi’s assumption, saying she can’t think of two people “less like brother and sister” than Ciara and Jesse.
I love the girls on Summer House and it’s rare that I find any fault with them. But I found myself feeling frustrated with them this summer. Of course, Jesse is the one to blame, but I felt they could’ve been more welcoming to Lexi.
How did Lexi Wood feel about the Summer House casts’ behavior on Season 9?
During a May 2025 appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Lexi opened up about her experience watching the show, telling host Amanda Hirsch she felt hurt by one cast member in particular.
“I’m the most disappointed in West [Wilson],” she said. “To my face, West has always said the opposite of what he says in his confessionals.”
“I’m learning things as the episodes come out,” she continued. “Everyone kind of like talked … behind my back.
Lexi had her chance to confront the cast in Part 1 of the reunion, but her housemates weren’t very receptive to hearing her out. Paige didn’t even look her in the eye when she told her, “I told you not to date him.” Ouch.
In April, Lexi shared her hopes for the reunion in an interview with Us Weekly, telling the outlet, “I think my main goal is really just to end the reunion stronger than when we all went in with the majority of the house.”
I’m not sure Lexi is going to achieve her goal based on Part 1, but we’ll have to see what happens in Part 2.
Summer House is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
