Justin Baldoni’s Body Double on ‘Tense’ Set Dynamics Amid Lawsuit Drama

As Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s legal battle continues to develop, his body double recalled the “tense” environment on the sets of “It Ends With Us.” Thomas Canestraro described the dynamic between the co-stars and the considerable delays in the schedule.

“You could tell that the set was tense. There was some discomfort from everybody,” Canestraro told the Daily Mail. He revealed that his five-day filming schedule in New Jersey turned out to be a two-week job. Initially, he was confused while thinking about the reason. However, given the alleged on-set dynamic, Canestraro suspected tension between Baldoni and Lively.

In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Justin Baldoni’s body double, Thomas Canestraro, explained Blake Lively’s reserved behavior on the “It Ends With Us” set. He noticed that he had an “easy time” working with the “Gossip Girl” actor during the 2018 film, “A Simple Favor.” However, on the 2024 movie set, Lively seemed “more closed off.”

Canestraro further told the tabloid that her husband, Ryan Reynolds, often visited her on the set. Baldoni’s body double recalled, “Originally, I came on set my first day, Ryan is on set, and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God. What a cool thing,’ it’s like when I was in ‘A Simple Favor.'” He remembered thinking, “What a supportive husband who just came on set to cheer his wife … I just love that about them, that’s a cool synergy in that couple.” However, things became clear after coming across news headlines about Lively’s sexual harassment case against Baldoni.

Moreover, Canestraro alleged that he would not take any sides. He understood why Reynolds made appearances on the film set. The 38-year-old body double also noted that the dispute might have affected Baldoni as well. Canestraro even hoped the two actors “can find an agreement.” He further said, “We don’t need that in the industry. At the same time, you can’t discredit anybody’s feeling, and anybody’s experience.”

The legal battle between the “It Ends With Us” co-stars started in December. In the lawsuit, she accused her co-star of sexual assault on the film set. In response, Justin Baldoni filed a $400 million countersuit against the married couple and their publicist, Leslie Sloane, denying the allegations.
