Taylor Swift’s announcement about buying back her catalog struck a chord with Swifties and her celebrity friends. Nearly six years after record executive Scooter Braun purchased the rights to her music for millions and later sold it to Shamrock Capital, the singer penned an emotional letter, claiming that her “entire life’s work” is now hers by all means.
Her close friend Selena Gomez shared the joy by reposting Swift’s announcement on her Instagram story. Congratulating her friend on her milestone career update, the singer-actor said. “YES YOU DID THAT TAY!!! SO proud!” A day after the announcement, the two ladies also reunited for a girls’ night out in New York City to celebrate the achievement. Photos suggest that the pop stars dined at the Monkey Bar and seemed to have had a gala time. Fellow singer and friend Gracie Abrams also reposted the announcement and said, “F— yes.”
