Todd Chrisley Claims He’s Innocent After Presidential Pardon

It’s a tale as old as time. People go to prison and steadfastly claim their innocence. That’s the song Todd Chrisley is singing after his Presidential pardon and release from jail. And honestly, it all just sounds like the plot of some bad movie. And we’ll get to see even more now that the Chrisley family is returning to reality TV.

The former Chrisley Knows Best star opened up to reporters a few days after his release about his prison stay. Among the many things he shared, he said he was very thankful for the pardon and maintained that he didn’t do anything wrong.

Todd Chrisley says he was convicted for something he “didn’t do”

To provide context, Todd was originally sentenced to 12 years in prison and his wife to seven years. They were accused of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

Todd had served just two years of sentence before receiving a pardon from POTUS. The President personally reached out to Savannah Chrisley to let her know her parents would be coming home “free and clean.”

And just like they did while they were in prison, Todd is opening up about everything. He spoke with the press just days after being released and reiterated that he felt he was falsely imprisoned. He also thanked his daughter for keeping up the fight.

“It’s a blessing and then your heart breaks because your child has been placed in that position,” he noted about Savannah working hard to get them released and shine the light on the conditions of the prison.

“Even though this pardon happened, I still was convicted of something that I did not do,” he added. “It could be you. It could be any of you.”

He was also asked if he had any regrets about the situation. He acknowledged that he would “have remorse if it was something I did.”

And if the current news cycle about this isn’t enough, it looks like we’ll be getting more information because the family now has an upcoming LIfetime series. The series is about the aftermath of the pardon. So we definitely won’t be able to stop hearing about this anytime soon.

Chrisley Knows Best is streaming on Peacock.
