A new report has hinted that Ben Affleck is eager to finalize the sale of the house he purchased with Jennifer Lopez, aka J.Lo, while they were still married. The Daily Mail exclusively learned from a source that the 52-year-old is willing to take a multi-million-dollar cut. This is so he can free himself from the final thing tying him to his ex-wife. Last year, the Beverly Hills property was put on the market for sale after the ex-couple parted ways.
However, the price was later slashed by $8 million, which is less than what they initially paid for the mansion. This is because there are currently no potential buyers, and the house remains on the market. While talking to the outlet, the insider claimed that the price cut “is nothing to Ben.” The source continued to state that the actor “really just wants this to be sold.” They explained, “…so that he can cut the final cord that keeps him and Jennifer intertwined.”
The source further told the outlet that Ben Affleck is aware that Jennifer Lopez “will always have a presence in his life” even after their divorce. This is because of their kids, who remain “best friends.” The 55-year-old shared twins Max and Emme with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, the actor shares three children — Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel — with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner.
The insider also noted that for Affleck and Lopez, the mansion is “the one last thing that is a symbol of their marriage.” He reportedly “just hopes that they find a buyer soon” and “does not care that he takes a multi-million cut.”
