Addison reveals she’s ‘grown past’ people calling her Addison Rae
Addison Rae recently opened up about why she decided to take off “Rae” from her stage name and just go by “Addison.” While on the show “Feeding Starving Celebrities” with host Quenlin Blackwell, the media personality revealed that she has “grown past just being called Addison Rae.” She also talked about how the name of her first album being “Addison,” was “like a tie-in” for her name change.
Addison further explained, “Whoever knows me as Addison Rae and knew me as Addison Rae will always know me as that. Anyways, so I just am tired of also signing Addison Rae.” She added, “It’s been long. I just would rather sign Addison.” The media personality believes that “it makes more sense” because it is like “going back to the roots really.”
During the show, host Quenlin Blackwell also asked the media personality about what was the reason behind “self-titling” the album. In response, Addison disclosed, “I thought about it for a really long time.” She continued, “You know, sometimes people will do a song on the album as like the title.” She added, “I kind of played with that a little bit.” Then, the singer explained, “When you do hear all of the music like straight through, there’s not really a title that like encompassed all of it.” Addison then said that everybody she played it for thought it sounded just like her. “And so I was like, ‘Maybe then the album is just my name,'” she added.
