Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit dismissal turned out to be a major setback for him. According to the Daily Mail, a source revealed how the “It Ends With Us” actor felt about the shocking turn of events. The judge’s decision seemed to be “a huge kick to the guts” for Baldoni. He was sued by Blake Lively for allegedly sexually assaulting her on the movie set last year.
Justin Baldoni struggling to accept Blake Lively countersuit dismissal, ‘source’ claims
Since the $400 million countersuit dismissal judgement, a source told the Daily Mail that Justin Baldoni was seemingly struggling to accept the outcome. In December, Blake Lively sued the filmmaker for an alleged sexual assault. Her accusations stated that the actor harassed her while filming “It Ends With Us.”
Baldoni denied the allegations and filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist, Leslie Sloane, for defamation and civil extortion. Additionally, he also took action against The New York Times and filed a defamation lawsuit for $250 million. On June 9, Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed Baldoni’s lawsuit against all of them, leading to a setback for the actor.
Despite the disappointment, the “Jane the Virgin” star has not lost hope. According to the Daily Mail, the insider said, “Even though it is a stumble, Justin still has full trust with his legal team. He is looking to figure out how to move forward from this current setback.”
Meanwhile, Lively took to her Instagram Story to share her victory and show her gratitude to her well-wishers. She wrote, “Like so many others, I’ve felt the pain of a retaliatory lawsuit, including the manufactured shame that tries to break us.” She continued, “While the suit against me was defeated, so many don’t have the resources to fight back.” The “Gossip Girl” star also assured her fans that she would “continue to stand for every woman’s right.”
