Something’s off in The Valley. If you’ve been watching Season 2, you’ve probably noticed a little chaos brewing, and it’s wrapped in designer denim and passive-aggressive smirks. I’m talking, of course, about Janet Caperna. Or rather, the eerie silence surrounding her name.
Some of the series’ cast members are acting as if they might summon Bravo’s own Beetlejuice if they say her name out loud. Let’s dig into why the cast won’t name-drop Janet in their confessionals, and how she’s becoming that girl in the group that people don’t want to associate with.

At first, I thought maybe I was imagining things. But now it’s a full-blown pattern. The Valley cast is dodging Janet’s name like it’s cursed. In multiple confessionals, you’ll hear them refer to her as “someone” or “that person.” And the name “Janet” is noticeably missing, even when she’s the center of the drama.
Jasmine Goode recently spoke out about the tension. She stated her co-stars are saying, “‘It’s someone with a J name.’ I’m like, ‘Can you all just say it?’ They’re all trying to say Janet’s name without saying ‘Janet.’ I’ll say it: ‘Janet.’ I’m like, ‘Just say it.’ I’m so sick of this.”
In Jasmine’s opinion, she thinks her friends are wary of rocking the boat. She stated, “I think people are scared of Janet. I think I’m a little scared of Janet. And I think sometimes Janet you just never know what she’s gonna do and it can be a little scary.”
Jasmine went on to imply that she is almost certain Janet has a little black book of receipts that she can potentially use against her castmates if the situation arises. The cast’s collective silence is louder than a Scheana Shay vocal warm-up, and it’s clear something is going down behind the scenes.

There is something about Janet. The mother of one didn’t just stumble onto The Valley and start causing chaos. Many fans feel she plotted her way onto the series after infiltrating the former Vanderpump Rules friend group.
Whether it’s stirring the pot with the help of Jason Caperna or casually dropping bombshells in her confessionals, Janet is quickly becoming the Bravo villain we didn’t see coming. But she’s so good at it. Like, really good. She doesn’t yell and she doesn’t throw drinks. She just sits there, calmly delivering one hit after another that can unravel friendships and cause cast members to spiral.
As a viewer, it’s unsettling. But, it’s kind of iconic if you’re watching from the safety of your couch. But now, she’s going downhill. Janet made some strong allegations about Danny Booko and his drinking. After taking a swig of tequila in a closet, Janet has all but diagnosed him with an addiction. That type of behavior is very dangerous. And Danny isn’t the only one getting annoyed. Jasmine has already called her a “Karen.”
It’s clear Janet has done her homework when it comes to playing the villain. It’s the classic Bravo formula: one cast member becomes so polarizing that everyone else either turns on them or falls in line.

Janet might be having the time of her life, but she is supposedly walking on thin ice. According to OK! Magazine, there will be cast changes. The source noted, “Jesse is not at risk for getting cut. Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick are also safe as are Danny and Nia [Sanchez] Booko.”
But “As far as Jax and Brittany go, production isn’t sure if they will have them return or not. With Janet feuding with almost everyone on the cast, she’s losing ground with them, and that’s a clear problem, which could result in her also not returning. They’re looking at all options for casting.” So it seems Janet isn’t meshing with the group, and people are tired of her toxic energy.
The bigger question that needs to be asked is, will Bravo listen? Because while the cast may be over, Janet, the viewers are hooked. Every time Janet is on screen, the scene is spicier. The Valley needs a wildcard. And right now, Janet is the person who is causing the most tension. But there is the chance she could go too far with her accusations, especially the ones about Danny. Janet must tread carefully if she hopes to return for The Valley Season 3.
