Syracuse, Schenectady, Utica! RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13 star Utica Queen is returning to reality TV, but this time, she’s taking a slightly different approach. She has joined the cast of Project Runway Season 21, and she’s not bringing her drag persona with her.

E! News just revealed the full cast for Project Runway Season 21, which confirmed that Ethan is a part of the 12-person cast. If you follow Utica on Instagram, then you know this has been a long time coming. After her run on Drag Race, she became a go-to designer for queens joining the race. Now, Ethan is ready to step into the spotlight for the title of top designer, and fortunately, this show doesn’t have a roast challenge.
“Known as RuPaul’s Drag Race legend ‘Utica Queen,’ Ethan Mundt is now bringing his fierce fusion of high fashion, avant-garde artistry, and theatrical storytelling to Project Runway,” his cast bio explains. “He aims to bring drama, sophistication, and a touch of surrealism to everything he creates.”
Ethan isn’t the only reality TV veteran stepping into the competition. Project Runway Season 7’s Jesus Estrada will compete this season. This time, the stakes are even higher with his twin brother, Antonio Estrada, also a part of the show’s cast. Season 19’s Caycee Black is also back for another shot at the title.
Project Runway Season 21 was confirmed last year after Disney made a deal with SpyGlass Media Group to acquire the show from Bravo. With that change also comes a revamped judges panel, with Heidi Klum and Nina Garcia returning. Law Roach will round out the panel, and Christian Siriano returns to the franchise as a workroom mentor.
Project Runway Season 21 kicks off with a two-episode premiere on July 31 at 9/8c on Freeform.
