Beyonce’s Fans Aren’t Connected to Her as Much as Taylor Swift’s Are, Says ‘Expert’

Beyonce is seemingly struggling to sell tickets for the London concert of her Cowboy Carter Tour. According to a personal branding expert, her fans might not feel connected to her as much as Taylor Swift’s followers do, the Daily Mail reported. It appears to be one of the reasons behind Beyonce not having a large number of young fans, which might have affected the ticket sales.

Fans feel ‘invited’ to Taylor Swift’s concert as opposed to Beyonce’s, says ‘expert’

Beyonce and Taylor Swift are music rivals who share a large fanbase. However, it appears that there’s a huge difference between Queen Bey’s and Swift’s followers. Personal branding expert Kelly Lundberg told the Daily Mail that the senior artist has “almost-unattainable levels of excellence,” while the “Lover” singer’s tours are more “accessible.”

Beyonce’s recent Cowboy Carter Tour in London didn’t experience good sales. Reportedly, unsold tickets were sold to low-income families to fill the seats. Lundberg pointed out that there were a few reasons behind it, including expensive ticket prices. This made the purchase difficult for many fans. Citing another reason, the expert said, “Then, there’s the tour itself. Cowboy Carter was brilliant culturally, but did it lose the deeper connection that her fans are looking for?”

Furthermore, Lundberg mentioned, “Beyonce and Taylor Swift have built their fanbase differently.” She explained that the “Single Ladies” hitmaker has a “high-level image” that disconnects her from regular fans emotionally. She added, “While Taylor Swift’s concerts very much invite fans to be a part of it; they feel invited in, rather than invited to witness.” Swift seemingly has a huge number of young fans “who attended her Eras tour with their parents,” but Beyonce struggles to have a similar connection with that generation.

The “Bad Blood” vocalist’s The Eras Tour successfully spanned from March 2023 to December 2024. Meanwhile, Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour also occurred in 2023 and had a successful ending. However, the recent Cowboy Carter Tour might not face the same results.
