Miley Cyrus‘ career has reportedly come crashing down in what appears to be “the beginning of the end,” much like Katy Perry‘s. After securing her long-overdue Grammy for “Flowers” in 2024, the Disney Channel alum released her latest album, “Something Beautiful,” last month. But to Cyrus’ dismay, its reception wasn’t the same. A source close to her has drawn parallels to Perry’s recent setbacks, including the unfavorable response to her album, “143,” and missing the mark with her The Lifetimes Tour.
‘Source’ says Miley Cyrus’ ego is not letting her realize that her career is tanking
The Daily Mail learned that Miley Cyrus’ “ego” isn’t letting her realize the descent in her musical career. “Her ego is not allowing her to realize that this might be the beginning of the end,” alleged the source close to the singer. They further expressed concerns that she might experience similar setbacks as her longtime friend and fellow musician, Katy Perry. Although Cyrus’ career graph may not be as dire as Perry’s, she could hit certain roadblocks.
Nevertheless, the insider claimed fans won’t witness the actor go to space, suggesting that “things aren’t as desperate just yet as they can be.” In the past year, Perry released an album that received mixed reviews, went on a highly controversial space trip, and hasn’t quite delivered on her tour. Reports even claimed that this rough patch has caused tensions between her and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom.
The source, however, believes Miley Cyrus is actively trying to avoid getting her career stuck in the same downward spiral as Katy Perry. The “Hannah Montana” star seemingly understands she can “always have another chance” at her career. To substantiate the claim, they cited her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, as an example. “I mean look at her father, he was a one hit wonder for how long and then ‘Old Town Road’ came about and he’s still making waves,” stated the insider.
Reportedly, Cyrus acknowledged that her new album received mixed reviews during her May interview with Zane Lowe. She told Lowe that her friends expressed doubts about the record being “pop music” when she played it for them for the first time. However, they later made it clear about saying so because it was “just so good.”
