When Paige DeSorbo popped up on Love Island USA over the weekend, she hosted the “Got Wood” challenge but strangely disappeared before it was over. That led a ton of fans to question what happened to Paige. Did they really fly her all the way to Fiji for that?
It almost seemed like it could have been an editing mistake, but the Summer House alum has confessed that she really did leave the challenge early! Apparently, she experienced a medical issue that forced her away from the set.
Where did Paige DeSorbo go on Love Island USA?
During the June 17 episode of Giggly Squad, the podcast Paige hosts with Hannah Berner, she explained her sudden disappearance on Love Island USA. It turns out that the hot weather of Fiji didn’t cooperate with the suede dress she wore on the show.
“It’s a long filming day, and we started pretty early,” she explained. “And mind you, I had just landed — not even a full 24 hours that I am there. I’m not even acclimated. But I’m fine, I’m not gonna say that. I’m not gonna be a diva. Like, I’m doing a job.”
“The sun starts beating down on me pretty aggressively,” Paige continued. “I have a high pain tolerance, so if I’m uncomfortable, I’m really waiting for the last second to tell you, because I don’t want to be a problem. I don’t want to be bothersome.”
According to Paige, she lasted for about an hour and a half into filming before she felt herself getting “queasy.” She threw up, and to her credit, she tried to continue the show. Then, things got even worse.
“I’m not feeling totally normal, but again, I’m not stopping the show that has so graciously asked me to come on,” she explained. “I literally sat down [and] passed out.”
With that, Paige’s time in the villa came to an end, but plenty of fans are ready to see her back for another guest spot. Next time, she just needs to leave the suede dresses at home.
