Sabrina Carpenter is everywhere; from creating albums to doing successful shows and tours, the singer is living her dream life, thanks to the hard work she puts behind her projects. Like every other singer, Carpenter also has a unique backstage tradition that she follows before every concert. While talking to Rolling Stone, the artist revealed her quirky habit of taking ice-cold baths, which usually makes her team members tense but relaxes her and prepares her for an onstage performance.
Sabrina Carpenter confesses to taking a cold plunge backstage before shows
Every singer has one or two backstage traditions before going onstage for their concert or album release. For instance, Taylor Swift reportedly has a secret session with her handpicked fans from social media. Even Selena Gomez loved to watch “The Big Bang Theory” before her performance. And it seems like Sabrina Carpenter is no exception to this rule. The singer has a unique backstage tradition that she follows rigorously before concerts.
During her interview with Rolling Stone, the 26-year-old confessed to taking a cold plunge in her portable ice bath just minutes before hitting the stage. She opened up about her ritual, saying, “Do you want to picture something really silly?” further explaining, “It’s me in full glam and stage curls, and I don’t put my head in. So it’s just from the neck up, I’m like onstage Sabrina, and then from neck down, I’m nude.”
Sometimes, the musician takes the plunge outdoors or in spas during her tours. She has even shared a picture of what it is like to get ready for the onstage performance via her Instagram post. However, she never brings her crew as they “have the funniest reaction to getting in. They still shriek or scream and start panicking.” So, she usually takes her “best friends,” Sarah Carpenter and Paloma Sandoval, for the tradition. Sarah is the singer’s sister and also her “creative partner slash photographer slash best friend.” In a way, the sisters “do everything together.”
Moreover, the girls have their “go-to ice bath song[s]” that they listen to while taking a bath. Opening about their little secret, Sandoval said, “You need to put on your ice-bath song if you’re going to be about that life.” With this revelation, Carpenter’s fans finally know the secret behind her power-packed performance.
