Next Gen NYC Star Charlie Zakkour’s Shocking Bankruptcy Filing Revealed

On Next Gen NYC, 30-year-old Charlie Zakkour has been flaunting his wealth and showing off the life of a Big Apple cryptocurrency trader. However, a new report revealed that just two years ago, he filed for bankruptcy. At one point, he only had $1,500 to his name. That will barely cover a day in New York, so what’s happening here?

Throughout the first few episodes of Next Gen NYC, we’ve heard chatter about Charlie’s lifestyle. The son of a private investor and an art collector, he was definitely born into money. However, his roommate admitted that he didn’t know what Charlie currently did for a living. According to The Sun, that’s been the case for quite some time.

The outlet reviewed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing from 2023, where Charlie claimed to have zero assets to his name. He said he didn’t own any property, stocks, or anything of that nature. He checked the box saying he was “not employed” but said he would be starting a new job soon. Perhaps he was referring to his new reality TV career?

Either way, Dylan’s filing went on to claim that his monetary assets consisted of $1,500 in cash, $2000 worth of electronics, and $1,000 worth of clothes. On the other hand, he reported over $35,000 in credit card debt split between two cards.

At the time of the bankruptcy filing, Charlie reported a monthly income of $1,000 a month, coming exclusively from friends and family. By July 2023, he was able to get all of his debt discharged after completing personal finance courses. He got a fresh start right before his reality TV debut.

These days, Charlie claims to be making money from trading crypto. He also has a paycheck coming from Bravo. So, let’s hope we don’t see him going down this path a second time.

Next Gen NYC airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
