It’s never too late to chase your dreams. Indie artist Chuck Adams proved that on the latest season of America’s Got Talent. His emotional audition stunned the judges and earned him a well-deserved standing ovation.

AGT Season 20 has certainly started with a bang. Everyone is looking forward to seeing the new crop of talents and hearing what the judges have to say. Chuck was definitely a standout. He could absolutely go far in the competition.

Is Chuck Adams one of AGT’s best singers ever?

It’s no secret that America’s Got Talent sees a wide range of talent. Heck, even Tom Sandoval earned praise for his audition despite being, as he said, “the most hated man in America.”

However, it’s the auditions like Chuck’s that really capture everyone’s hearts. His performance was heartfelt and soulful and shows that it’s never too late to pursue your passion.

Chuck is an indie artist from Connecticut. At his audition, he shared that he started in the music industry very young and even signed a record deal early on in his career.

“Things started to go great until they didn’t,” Chuck shared candidly. He explained that things went south and that the next thing he knew, over twelve years had passed. His decision to audition now was influenced by his mother (Simon’s close friend!).

Chuck revealed he was already 40 years old to the audience’s surprise, but he’s still giving it a shot. He then began strumming his guitar and shared an incredible and unique rendition of Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls.

His vocals were rich and nuanced and he effortlessly told a story through his singing. The depth of character in his performance is something usually only time can nurture and Chuck’s artistry was evident. When he finished, the audience burst into applause and the judge’s all gave him a standing ovation.

Although Chuck didn’t get the coveted golden buzzer, the judges all praised his performance and overall vibe. Sofia said he could go far in this competition and Simon praised his voice and stage presence.

America’s Got Talent continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
