The Chrisley family remains in the news cycle. And between social media and TV interviews we’re learning more and more about what it’s been like since their pardon. Julie Chrisley revealed her immediate reaction in an upcoming interview and it was a perfect mix of shock and tears.
It’s almost impossible to not know by now that Todd Chrisley and his wife Julie were granted a presidential pardon. They reunited with their family and hit the ground running. And it’s been TV interviews, news pieces, and an upcoming Lifetime series ever since.
Julie Chrisley got emotional after hearing about Trump’s pardon
Everyone knows how hard Savannah Chrisley worked to get her parents released from jail. She led the charge to advocate for them and their “harsh prison sentences” and their “abysmal prison conditions.”
And her hard work paid off. She believed the president would be the one to ensure her parents came home and he did. No wonder she put all her eggs in the MAGA basket.
Julie could barely believe the news when she received it. The former Chrisley Knows Best star was so surprised she unknowingly hung up on her daughter and just burst into tears.
“I called Savannah one more time and she said ‘He did it! He signed it’ and I just started busting out crying,” Julie shared on the My View with Lara Trump show.
“And then she hung up on me,” Savannah added.
“And I just hung up,” Julie confirmed. “I was so nervous, I just hung up. It was the craziest thing. And everybody was just looking at me because, unfortunately, most of the news you get in prison is bad news. So they’re like ‘Are you okay?’ and I’m like, ‘I am! I’m getting out of here, I’m getting out of here!’”
Todd revealed similar elation upon confirming the news of his pardon. He said the family owed thanks to God who ensured they would get home to their children.
Todd and Julie were previously convicted for fraud charges and went to prison in 2023.
