Come ye sinners and come ye saints for the much anticipated Secret Lives of Mormon Wives reunion. I have to admit the drama started immediately and didn’t let up for the entire hour and a half segment. As viewers may recall, in 2022, Utah influencer Taylor Frankie Paul went viral for revealing that she and her husband had been engaging in soft swinging with other Mormon couples. Even though the scandal wasn’t as juicy as most of us had once believed, the women still are all about the gossip. So let’s unpack what went down during the tell-all.

I kid you not, when I tell you the drama started directly after the host, Nick Viall, introduced himself. The spotlight was shifted to Demi Engemann, who was not in attendance due to prior plans with Mickey Mouse. But her former best friend and twin flame, Jessi Ngatikaura, had a lot to say. The hairstylist quickly shared the tea and receipts that she had about Demi’s possible fling with Marciano Brunette. It turns out that the cast of Vanderpump Villa all thought the women were swingers, and Demi didn’t help dissuade their opinions. Mikayla Matthews noted that Demi actually spent more time with the hotel crew than they did, which everyone found unusual. The influencer told the host that she was personally worried about how her friend would be perceived and questioned if Demi knew the boundaries of her marriage.
All of this is tame in comparison to the text messages that Jessi had in her back pocket. With not even a second thought, she snatched her phone out and started reading Demi’s private messages to Marciano. Warning: these messages are rated R. Demi first wrote, “Get excited hahah baptized by fire. Is this how you sweet-talk all the ladies!?” Marciano responds, “Baptized by fire. Oh no all right if that’s what you want for me. I didn’t realize I was sweet-talking you.”

The conversation then shows a photo of oysters with Demi writing “Gonna hurl.” The Las Vegas server tells her, “Don’t be a baby.” With Demi adding, “It’s no different than swelling cum and I wholeheartedly stand by that” Marciano then says, “Ha ha so fun fact about Demi doesn’t swallow. Got it.” The conversation gets worse if you can imagine it. The self-proclaimed Queen Bee of the group adds, “I’m never going to be able to eat oysters again and not think about that. Ha ha ha ruined it forever, enjoy.” She ends her message with an eggplant emoji, a clam emoji, and a water squirting emoji. You can decipher those hieroglyphics.
Nick then asks the women if any of them would trust Demi, and the consensus is no. Even new ally Whitney Leavitt has to admit she was made to feel uncomfortable by the messages. Somewhere in the conversation, Jessi also let slip that Demi is no longer a part of the group since she doesn’t talk to anyone.

It’s clear that Jessi is having an extremely hard time. And by minute 10, viewers are already learning about the cheating accusations that Marciano hurled at her. The host points out that while Jessi is wearing a lot of rings, she isn’t currently wearing her wedding ring. The cameras find Jordan Ngatikaura, who looks like a shell of a man. Jessi, who is more reserved than usual, shares, “Jordan and I are working through a lot of hard things at the moment. But all I have to say is I’m exposing so much of my life, and I’m just hoping that people will be able to relate to it. And I’m doing it to help other people and also because it’s my real life. And it’s happening and I can’t hide it.”
There were a lot of “Is” in that statement, which has me worried for the state of their marriage. Nick bluntly then asks, “Did you have sex?” Jessi doesn’t balk and answers, “A lot of the story is unpacked in season three. So I can’t talk about it yet.” When asked about her hubby, she adds, “I’m sure he’s anxious, nervous, sad. You know we’re both going through a lot right now. I think he’s willing to tell his truth. He’s been very vulnerable through season three. He’s just laid it all out there, vulnerable. It’s not what you think it is.” But Jordan had a visceral reaction to Jessi’s thought process.
