This story out of Australia sounds like something out of a horror movie. A woman named Tamika Chesser, who appeared on Beauty and the Geek Australia in 2010, is accused of dismembering her partner, Julian Story. Authorities discovered most of his remains inside their apartment, but they’ve been unable to locate his head.
Police are still looking for the victim’s head
According to a report from ABC, cops showed up at Tamika and Julian’s apartment on the afternoon of June 19 after receiving a report about a small fire. They made the grim discovery upon arrival.
“It was a confronting scene for police and emergency services personnel as Julian’s body had been dismembered,” the South Australia Police wrote in a statement. “Julian’s head had been removed during the dismemberment and, despite extensive searches, has not yet been located.”
The police records detailed that the man’s body suffered severe burns in addition to the dismemberment. They suspected that the murder had happened at least two days prior to discovering the body.
A witness told the cops that he saw smoke coming from Tamika and Julian’s apartment. Allegedly, he saw the Beauty and the Geek alum leaving the smoky apartment with her dogs. When asked what she was doing, she simply said “nothing.”
“The witness was concerned that smoke or fire would spread … [so he] filled a bucket with water and entered unit 3 through the rear door,” the police documents explained. “In the bathroom of the unit, he located a bundle of clothing rags and debris, which was smoldering. The witness doused this and repeated this with a second bucket of water.”
When the cops arrived, they found Tamika sitting on the patio in a “catatonic and unresponsive state.” Authorities are holding her in a mental health facility without bail. Her next court hearing is in December.
In the meantime, the cops are still trying to understand the motive behind the murder. They’re also asking the public’s help to retrace Tamika’s movements around the time of the murder. The hope is that they can recover the victim’s head and properly lay him to rest. The authorities said that’s currently their number one priority.
