Jennifer Lopez allegedly remembers her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, after over a year of separation. The duo, who officially got divorced in January, had decided to part ways in April 2024. Now, the latest update, as per a fan, is that Lopez was seemingly referencing her former partner through her new track at her listening party.
Jennifer Lopez’s new song hinted at ‘coming out of a bad situation much stronger,’ ‘fan’ claims
As per Us Weekly, Jennifer Lopez hosted a secret listening party on July 2. She invited 30 die-hard fans from Los Angeles for this special occasion. At the event, the 55-year-old played her five upcoming songs, “Up All Night,”” Regular,” “Free,” “Save Me Tonight,” and “Birthday.” An additional song included a ballad titled “Wreckage of You.”
An attendee named Edgardo Luis Rivera opened up on the details of the ballad with US Weekly. “‘Wreckage of You’ is a pop ballad that she told us she cowrote and recorded two weeks ago,” Rivera recalled. The fan also shared that the Grammy-nominated singer revealed that she got “the idea of the song” after “lying in bed” following “a long day of tour rehearsals.”
Additionally, Jennifer Lopez told the fan that 2024 was a “difficult time for her both personally and professionally.” The pop icon had to “cancel her tour and really focus on herself.” However, “she feels better and stronger than ever” right now. Eventually, the singer decided “to write a song about coming out of a bad situation much stronger.”
Interestingly, the ballad also seemingly referenced Jennifer Lopez’s relationship with Ben Affleck. Rivera mentioned that Lopez, who separated from Affleck last year, “kept thinking of the word ‘wreck’ because it means destruction, but she wasn’t destroyed.” The fan continued, “In fact, the lyrics of the song are, ‘I’m stronger after the wreckage of you.'”
A second attendee also mentioned that the ballad is a “very emotional, empowering song about walking away from a relationship and coming out a stronger person.” Rivera concluded that Lopez “feels very free” and “on this summer tour, she wants to perform some new material that she’s been working on because a lot of these new songs express how she feels.”
Jennifer Lopez’s new tracks will be played at her Up All Night tour starting Tuesday in Spain.
