Squid Game just aired its final season, but Squid Game: The Challenge is just getting started! Netflix just dropped a teaser for Season 2 along with a premiere date. Check out the teaser below and get ready to meet the 456 real-life players.
Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2’s release date confirmed in new teaser
In the newly released teaser for Season 2 of Squid Game: The Challenge, the camera pans to a person huffing and puffing with the theatrics of someone truly afraid of getting murdered. Then, the player’s ink cartridge explodes, reminding you that this is reality TV, not the gruesome game from the fictional show.
Season 1 of Squid Game: The Challenge aired back in November 2023. 456 players competed in games inspired by the events in the series. In the end, one person took home the massive grand prize of $4.56 million.
After the season aired, we started hearing horror stories from the players about the harsh conditions they faced while filming the show. Allegedly, some players suffered from hypothermia. However, the producers made sure to hand out plenty of condoms to the players, which some people were forced to use as chapstick.
Regardless of the behind-the-scenes stories, shooting Squid Game: The Challenge, Netflix found 456 new players to compete for the $4.56 million. As we learned from the original series, money will make people do some crazy things. Let’s just hope the producers took better care of the players this time.
Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2 premieres November 22 on Netflix with five episodes. Four more episodes will drop on November 29, followed by the season finale on December 2.
