Prince William Believes Robert Irwin Could Be Part of Monarchy, Says ‘Source’

Prince William and Robert Irwin’s friendship can reportedly help the latter become a part of the monarchy. According to a source, the Prince of Wales believes collaborating with the conservationist will “inspire the next generation.” He seemingly feels that Irwin and his family have what the monarchy needs, and thus wants to continue working on “their shared mission of conservation.”

Prince William is eager to bring Robert Irwin and his family into the ‘royal fold,’ says ‘source’

Prince William, 43, and Robert Irwin, 21, have been friends for a long time. According to Star Magazine, the Australian TV presenter has been appointed as the Earthshot Prize ambassador, thanks to King Charles’ eldest son. The latter’s charity, The Royal Foundation, is the annual award’s presenter.

Furthermore, a source told Star Magazine that the Duke of Cambridge has a huge respect for Irwin’s father, the late Steve Irwin. He admires the way the conservationist and his family have maintained the legacy. William believes Irwin has the “charisma, work ethic, and heart” to attract the young generation towards their cause of conservation and protecting animals.

Additionally, the insider claimed, “[Prince William] says the Irwins represent the kind of global, positive energy the monarchy needs more of, and he’s eager to bring them further into the royal fold.”

Last month, fans witnessed their bond when the Prince of Wales left a funny message for Irwin in an episode of Scott Mills’ BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show. He jokingly warned the host about the wildlife photographer’s habit of pulling out “terrifying animals and creatures out of his pockets” on television shows. Later, Irwin responded to it in an interview with People, as he quipped, “I have taken it easy on him.”

He further appreciated Prince William’s enthusiasm whenever the two talked about animals. “In most conversations I have with His Royal Highness, I learn something. I really do,” Irwin added.
