Savannah Chrisley Upsets Fans With Treatment of Mom Julie on Podcast

Once again, Savannah Chrisley has found herself in hot water. This time, it isn’t because of her political views. Instead, people are coming to the defense of her mom, Julie Chrisley. People feel like she was disrespectful during a recent episode of her podcast, and they’re making their feelings known.

Did Savannah disrespect her mom Julie Chrisley?

The moment in question happened during the July 8 episode of Savannah’s Unlocked podcast, where she interviewed Julie and Todd Chrisley about the aftermath of their prison sentences. At one point, Savannah admitted that she felt a “disconnect” with her parents after they got out of the slammer.

“Well, I love y’all and I’m proud of you for how you’ve handled everything,” Savannah began.

“And Dad, honestly though, has been a lot more fun than you, so I’m going to need you to snap out it,” she told her mother.

Later in the pod, Savannah said that she felt like there was a “wall” between them. Todd theorized that it could be due to the “trauma” their family experienced. Either way, fans in the comments didn’t feel thrilled with Savannah and her critiques. Plenty of commenters called her out for the lack of empathy and urged Savannah (and everyone watching from home) to show her some more compassion.

One person wrote, “Mrs. Julie is literally traumatized from being indicted and going to prison!”

Another added, “Everybody needs to cut Julie some slack. She has been through the most traumatic event of her life—and it changed her—and that’s OK. She has been publicly humiliated and shamed and platformed as a bad person, and all of that evil was used against her publicly, for the world to see.”

Further in the comments, Julie received a wave of support for making it through the dark time. People are on her side. Whether or not you agree with their release, you can expect to see more of their complicated new family dynamic on the Chrisleys’ upcoming show on Lifetime. Clearly, they’ve got plenty to discuss.

The Chrisleys: Life After Lockup is available to stream on Hulu and Disney+
