Blake Lively’s Deposition Gets New Date After Postponement — Report

A new date has been announced for the Blake Lively deposition amid her ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni. The “Gossip Girl” actor’s deposition was initially scheduled for Thursday. However, it has now reportedly been postponed to July 31. Both parties agreed to it after a recent court decision altered the course of proceedings.

Blake Lively’s deposition is reportedly set on July 31 after judge’s ruling

As Blake Lively prepares for her deposition in her legal battle with Justin Baldoni, the court postponed the initial schedule. Pushing the deposition back by two weeks, its new date is now July 31. PEOPLE obtained and reviewed the court documents. The tabloid claimed that the attorneys for Lively and Baldoni met on July 16, mutually agreeing on the new date.

According to PEOPLE, a source claimed that both camps needed more time after the judge’s ruling on Wednesday. This delay coincided with a judge’s decision to dismiss a related lawsuit against publicity specialist Jed Wallace on jurisdictional grounds. Lively’s civil action against Wallace was related to allegations of planning a smear campaign. However, Judge Lewis J. Liman ruled that the New York court lacked jurisdiction over him.

A spokesperson for Lively told Us, “Ms. Lively respects the Court’s decision, which has nothing to do with the merits of her allegations about Mr. Wallace’s role in the smear campaign.” They added that it “relates solely to the procedural question of whether he is subject to jurisdiction in New York or elsewhere.”

Additionally, they revealed, “We currently are evaluating our numerous options for holding Mr. Wallace accountable for the pivotal role he served in the retaliatory effort that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties paid him at least tens of thousands of dollars a month to perform.”

The initial deposition fired controversy over a judge allowing Lively to hold it remotely from her attorney’s office. However, the new location remains unclear, following a protective order granted to the “Another Simple Favor” actor on July 14. The new date for the Blake Lively deposition is another development in the prolonged legal battle with Justin Baldoni. With the postponed deposition, all eyes are on the next steps in the high-profile case.
