Priscilla Robertson, one of the Duck Dynasty daughters, is expecting her first child. However, Priscilla is 18 years old and not currently married. So, while her conservative family feels thrilled for this new life, her mother, Jessica Robertson, otherwise known as the soon-to-be-grandmother, had to admit that this pregnancy shocked her greatly.
Jessica Robertson said Priscilla’s pregnancy “isn’t the plans we had”
Priscilla and her boyfriend are expecting a little girl. Like most parents, Jessica went online to share this good news with her followers. Yet, her words landed somewhat stickily for some. As it stands, this precious gift came at a rather unexpected time for this grandmother-to-be.
As Jessica explained, she and her husband, Jep Robertson, “are excited to welcome another new grandbaby in October. Priscilla will give birth to our granddaughter & we [feel] blessed to add another grandbaby,” Jessica gushed. But then, Jessica stressed that “This isn’t [in] the plans we had laid out for Priscilla, but God takes our meager offerings and turns them into His greatest blessings!”
Following this statement, Jessica praised Priscilla and her boyfriend Dillon for choosing “life for their baby.” Jessica then prayed “blessings on her pregnancy,” asking “God for a safe delivery for Mom & Baby.” She also further stressed that they are all still praising “God for His perfect gifts!”
Naturally, her post struck a nerve with some. Several fans even chimed in to comment how sad Priscilla must feel to see this post. In contrast, others commented that Jessica had no choice but to word her post this way. Otherwise, their Christian, conservative platforms might fume about how this family is now “endorsing unmarried” pregnancies.
On a lighter note, Jessica closed out her post with a joke, saying, “Pray for us! 3 [Grand]babies under 1!” Good luck, Roberstons!
