Blake Lively reportedly got a reality check in court after the judge said they didn’t know her during a hearing in the Justin Baldoni case. The “It Ends With Us” co-stars have been battling it out in court over sexual harassment and smear campaign allegations she made against Baldoni in December. Reports had mentioned that Lively has been using her star power to dictate the proceedings. However, a witness recently claimed that the federal judge had no idea who she was, leaving her “rattled.”
Blake Lively was surprised because she is used to being ‘adored,’ says ‘source’
Rob Shuter #ShuterScoop learned that a judge denied Blake Lively her fame, which caught her off guard. She reportedly didn’t know how to react during a recent court hearing in the Justin Baldoni case when U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman didn’t recognize the stars. A source, who witnessed the proceeding, claimed that Judge Liman said he had “never heard” of either Lively or Baldoni. Moreover, their fame carried no weight in the courtroom.
The source recounted that the “Gossip Girl” alum “looked like she’d been slapped.” The judge denying her fame came as a surprise to her because she is “used to being adored and fawned over.” It seemingly “rattled” her. The report mentioned that it happened when Baldoni’s lawyer argued that the court had been granting Lively “special treatment” to dictate the terms of the deposition. Liman called these accusations “serious” and fixed a date for her deposition.
Before the judge’s latest comments, Justin Baldoni’s team had argued that Blake Lively was using her “stardom” to gain advantage in the case. Reports noted that the actor-director tried to fight Lively’s request to change the location for her deposition. However, the judge granted her request. She had cited grounds of a paparazzi ambush and argued that Baldoni’s team intended to make a spectacle out of it. The deposition will now take place on July 31.
