The details about Next Gen NYC’s viewership arrived via Deadline the same day of the Season 1 finale. According to their report, the series earned 5.4 million viewers across all platforms within 35 days of the premiere. That makes Next Gen NYC Bravo’s most-watched series premiere of all time.
So what was the key to making Next Gen NYC a big hit? Of course, you’ve got to give some credit to the Housewives kids, like Ariana Biermann and Riley Burruss, who have been serving up the drama just like their mothers did. However, NBCUniversal credits Love Island USA for helping boost the viewership for Next Gen NYC.
Season 7 of Love Island USA premiered on the same day as Next Gen NYC. Since Love Island USA is the most-watched reality show on Peacock, a lot of viewers followed up the villa with an episode of Next Gen NYC. NBC’s execs said that a third of Love Island’s audience also streamed Next Gen NYC within 35 days of the premiere.
Next Gen NYC also boasts a remarkably younger audience. The median viewing age on Peacock is 39, making it one of Bravo’s youngest shows. It’s also become a hit on TikTok, with posts about the show receiving more engagement than any other series on Bravo.
With numbers like these, it’s safe to assume that Next Gen NYC will get a Season 2. It also lends more credibility to those rumors about an LA spinoff. Bravo has a hit on their hands, and we can’t wait to see what they do with it.
