King Charles Labeled ‘Cheap’ After Massive Gardening Staff Exit, ‘Source’ Claims

King Charles has been dealing with a massive gardening staff exit at Highgrove House over the years. Reports previously mentioned that nearly all gardeners have quit their jobs following unsuccessful efforts to satisfy the monarch’s demands.

The alleged reasons behind the mass exit include a lack of resources, physical and mental distress, as well as low morale. More recently, a source claimed that the king has been facing criticism from former employees over the same and for being “cheap.”

King Charles wants ‘royal gardens on a pauper’s budget,’ ‘source’ claims

Rob Shuter exclusively learned that over the years, King Charles has been under fire due to the gardening staff exit. Reportedly, 11 out of 12 employees working at Highgrove House have resigned since 2022, calling him out for being “notoriously cheap” because of their inadequate wages despite having a massive budget. In addition, the king allegedly had unrealistic expectations and demands that were impossible for the staffers to meet.

One former staff member told Shuter that King Charles treated “his compost better than people.” Moreover, he seemingly wants “royal gardens on a pauper’s budget,” even though the estate pulled in more than $8 million last year. A report previously made similar claims, alleging that the primary cause for staff members quitting their jobs was the harsh working conditions. These included insufficient resources, low morale, and far-fetched expectations.

The claims about King Charles’ gardening staff exiting have reportedly triggered an investigation into the matter. The King’s Foundation reportedly launched an external probe and found evidence of “poor” management and “staff shortages.” The foundation’s spokesperson told Fox News Digital that they “regularly report very high satisfaction rates” in their annual surveys. They further boasted about their “many positive developments” over the years.

Moreover, the publication confirmed that there has only been one complaint between 2024 and 2025, with nearly 500 staff members working on the estate. The report mentioned that employees have also received pay hikes annually for the past three years.
