The loss of a parent, especially when it’s long before you ever expected it, is a shocking and heart-wrenching situation. Hulk Hogan’s 35-year-old son Nick Hogan is doing his best to deal with his father’s “overwhelming” and “extremely difficult” death.
On July 24, the WWE wrestler died suddenly of a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Hall of Famer and reality TV star Terry Bollea, aka Hulk Hogan, was only 71 and seemingly in good health.
Just a few days later, his only son took to Instagram to share a loving tribute to his dad.

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out … and comforted me over the last few days,” Nick wrote. “It truly means a lot … This has been overwhelming and extremely difficult.”
“Hearing so many kind words and stories about my dad’s life, interactions and experiences with everyone has been incredible and comforting,” Nick continued. “My dad was the most incredible person I’ve ever known and will always be my hero.”
“He was the most kind, loving and amazing father anybody could ask for,” he added. “I feel so blessed to have had the greatest dad in the world. He was not only the best dad but also my mentor and my best friend … I love him and miss him more than I could ever explain.”
Fortunately, Nick says he was able to thank his dad for all he had done for him and tell him how much he loved him before he passed. In recent years, he even moved back to Florida to be closer to his dad and spend time with him. “I am so grateful for those memories,” he wrote. “They are the best moments in my life,”
“Thank you for being the best dad in the world and thank you for being my best friend,” he concluded. “I love you so much Big Dog and I will miss you forever.”
On the morning he died, Clearwater Fire & Rescue workers were dispatched to the six-time WWE Champion’s home for a “cardiac arrest” emergency. Hulk, famous for his shirt-ripping bravado, was pronounced dead soon after.
“We are heartbroken,” his reps announced. “He was such a great human being and friend.
Despite his popularity among WWE fans, the Hulkamania star became controversial in his later years. First, his divorce from his wife Linda Hogan and subsequent squabbles with his daughter Brooke Hogan put his family in a bad light.
He married twice more after his divorce from Linda, both times to much younger women. But it was his devotion to Donald Trump that alienated many of his former fans; though it also won over some others.
