The Netflix reality competition show Building the Band has wrapped! And the winning group 3Quency is talking about their time on the show and the poignant advice that Liam Payne gave them that they will remember forever.
Netflix has finally aired Building the Band. The reality competition is a fun mix of a singing competition meets Love Is Blind. Contestants pick bandmates based solely on talent without ever having seen them. They even have their own musical pods. The release of the show was initially postponed after Liam’s tragic passing. But it’s streaming now and fans get to see how amazing Liam was as a mentor to the budding musical talents.
Liam Payne had advice for Building the Band winners 3Quency
The show featured incredible bands that grew through each episode. The ultimate winners were 3Quency, the girl trio with powerful vocals and incredible sass. The ladies went on Sirius XM’s Reality Checked to talk about their experience on the show and the great advice Liam gave them.
“Was there just like a moment specifically from Liam that you remember?” Kiki Monique asked. “Like he taught you or just some advice he gave you that just sticks with you to this day?”
The girls all agreed there were so many wonderful moments with Liam.
“He specifically pulled us, you know after everything happened and we had finished filming and he pulled us at the after party and spent like a good 30 to 45 minutes just talking to the three of us,” Brianna Mazzola shared.
She added, “(He was) giving us all the tips, all the things he’s learned and his experience of coming off a show where he built a band and how, you know, it’s similar to what we’re gonna be going through. What the world is going to say and how to brace yourself for the impact. It was really, really special for us to learn that from him, being that it was a shared experience.”
She concluded how incredible it was for them to get advice from someone who truly understood how it feels to create a band on reality TV and went through what they are going through.
Liam tragically passed away in 2024. But his influence and heart is still felt through Building the Band where fans can experience him doing what he loved to do and helping herald in a new generation of talent.
