Leah Kateb Accuses Love Island USA Producer of Lying

Leah Kateb may have moved on to Love Island: Beyond the Villa, but she’s still making headlines for what happened during her time on Love Island USA.

She and Miguel Harichi were fan favorites during season 6, and they’ve managed to stay together since leaving the villa. In a new interview, Leah revealed that things behind the scenes weren’t as picture-perfect as they seemed on camera. She says some off-screen drama complicated their time on the show.

Now, Leah is sharing her frustrations with one producer who allegedly tried to interfere with her relationship with Miguel. She opened up about the manipulation they experienced while filming.

Leah says a Love Island USA producer lied about Miguel

On the Tuesday, July 29 episode of Tommy DiDario’s I’ve Never Said This Before podcast, Leah explained her hesitation to return to reality TV.

“I didn’t think that I wanted to return back to reality TV for a really long time,” she said. “I don’t think it was ever a final note at all [though]. That’s a really big thing that people mistook what I said when I said I wouldn’t be on Love Island Games.”

She said she had issues with a few Love Island USA producers, but not the show as a whole.

“They called me right after I got out the villa. [But] I didn’t want to work with certain producers on Love Island USA again just because of my personal experience and what they have said to me.”

Leah said her problem had nothing to do with how the show portrayed her.

“I don’t even care about [the villain edit],” she explained. “It’s my experience that I had outside of that was not positive.”

She claimed one producer lied to both her and Miguel during filming.

“During those check-ins, they would be like, ‘Oh, Miguel told me that he doesn’t see a future with you outside of this,’” Leah said. “When I told Miguel he was like, ‘I literally never said that.’”

“They were trying to shove me in a different direction — away from Miguel — because they thought that would be the craziest reality TV moment,” she continued. “But I’m a human being with feelings.”

Leah said the same producer lied to Miguel while he was in Casa.

“While he was in Casa, he was told, ‘You don’t know what Leah’s doing over there,’” she said.

At the end of the day, Leah’s grateful that their connection lasted despite the interference.

“Miguel and I were into each other enough that we didn’t even care about the things that they were saying,” she said.

Peacock has not yet commented on Leah’s accusations.

New episodes of Love Island: Beyond the Villa drop Thursdays at 9/8c on Peacock. Past Seasons of Love Island USA stream on Peacock and ITVX in the U.K. and Ireland.
