Pete Davidson is all praise for his friend and fellow dad, Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), revealing the former received some handy parenting advice from the latter.

On Sunday, July 27, the comedian attended the premiere of “The Pickup” with his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt. During the event, he opened up to PEOPLE about the parenting advice he received from the singer. Davidson called Kelly “the best dad ever,” while commending the latter’s commitment as a father of two girls.

MGK is a dad to two daughters, including Casie, 16, whom he shares with his ex, Emma Cannon. He recently welcomed his four-month-old daughter, Saga, with his ex Megan Fox. Davidson shared how his friend would fly “back and forth to Cleveland twice a week just to see his daughter play volleyball.” The former SNL star also noted that the “Emo Girl” singer is “always with his kids.”

Davidson further shared Kelly’s views on parenthood and said, “It’s his favorite thing. And he’s like, ‘This is going to be your favorite thing.'” The dad-to-be noted that he is looking forward to taking care of his and Hewitt’s baby. The SNL alum also noted that the prospect of embracing fatherhood gave him “this weird sense of calmness.”

The comedian said that the baby made him realize that he was basing his happiness on his work, which he termed “ridiculously unhealthy.” The 31-year-old added that he is looking forward to having “awesome play dates” with his long-time friend.

On July 16, Hewitt took to Instagram to announce that she and Davidson were expecting their first child together. Kelly was one of the commenters, expressing his happiness. He said, “These playdates bout to hittttt.”

Davidson and Kelly initially met on the sets of the game show “Wild N’ Out” in 2017. They grew even closer while filming the Netflix movie “The Dirt” in 2019.
