There have been a lot of ups and downs, but Carl Radke is finally gearing up for the opening of Soft Bar + Café. It’s been quite a while in the making but the Summer House star shared that he’s soft circled August 27 for the grand opening for friends and family. The establishment will then open to the public on September 5.
Carl first introduced his product to the Summer House cast during Season 8 of the show. His non-alcoholic bar concept has been around since his ex Lindsay Hubbard was still in his life. While she shot the idea down, Carl soldiered on and turned it into a full sober “experience” as opposed to just a dry sports bar. He first began selling out a decked out van while working on the first physical location.

Now it looks like it’s finally coming together. Carl dropped by SiruisXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show to talk about Soft Bar + Café. He touched on the challenges of the physical location and about when the grand opening would be.
“I didn’t get the space until January,” Carl shared. “We started building in March. And soft-circled August 27 for the soft opening for friends and family. He also explained that it was a first generation space so they really built everything out from plumbing to electrical to everything.
The Soft Bar + Café is opening in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Carl explained how the concept is similar to a beloved coffee shop with just a little bit more.
“Is there some adjacent comparison to Starbucks?” he asked. “Absolutely. What we’re doing is the coffee and non-alc culture. But extending that into the evening.”
He added, “Every coffee shop in this town, for the most part, closes at 5-6pm. But you have a space there that’s beautiful and cool.” He also added that they would be dog-friendly and kid-friendly for certain hours each day.
It looks like seeing the fruition of Carl’s vision and his dedication to his own sobriety is finally opening its doors soon.
