Love Island USA Season 6 has its own Scandoval with the breakup between JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez. After the couple split, nearly all of their Season 6 co-stars unfollowed Kenny on Instagram. So did the show’s host Ariana Madix. This lead to a lot of speculation over what he did. When the split was confirmed, sources debunked theories that Kenny cheated or that they had a big blowout fight at David Dobrik’s birthday party the night before.
On Tuesday July 29, JaNa released her statement about the breakup. Kenny soon followed suit. And that’s when all hell broke loose on social media. Kenny’s statement did not go over well, to say the least. He eventually deleted it after his co-stars from Season 6 and Beyond the Villa came after him.
Through their comments, viewers started to get an idea of what Kenny did to JaNa. Then JaNa’s best friend dropped the biggest hint yet. Here’s how the breakup blew up over social media, and what we learned about Kenny’s shocking betrayal.
Love Island USA’s JaNa Craig and Kenny Rodriguez released breakup statements on social media
On Tuesday evening, JaNa and Kenny released their own statements on their Instagram stories. JaNa posted first. She thanked the fans for all their support.
“As you know, Kenny and I are no longer together,” she wrote. “Please know that I have seen all the breakup theories and none have matched up to how terrible, disgusting and disappointing it truly is.” The Destination X star continued, “Discovering that someone you loved isn’t who you thought they were and that the relationship you thought you were building hasn’t been genuine since day one has been truly devastating.”
Finally, she thanked everyone for respecting her privacy and promised that “as a child of God, I will always be okay.”
JaNa reacted to Kenny’s statement
Kenny released his own statement shortly after JaNa’s. He wrote that the days since the breakup were “incredibly difficult” and that he was processing it privately. While JaNa’s statement referenced a betrayal, Kenny’s was more generic.
In his words, things ended because “Sometimes, despite how deeply you care for someone, you come to the hard truth that the relationship was not something that could last long-term.” Saying he’ll always be grateful for the memories, Kenny wrote, “I release this chapter with no ill will, only a hope that JaNa’s path forward brings her nothing but happiness.”
JaNa responded to Kenny by writing, “stfu you manipulative liar.” The fan favorite continued, “You not taking accountability and telling people the type of person you really are is insane to me! My first statement was being nice. Don’t piss me off.” JaNa was far from the only Love Island USA star angry at Kenny’s statement.
Love Island Season 6 cast bashed Kenny’s statement and are all Team JaNa
One reason Season 6 reigns supreme is that the cast really did become a family. And that family turned out in droves to support JaNa. Naturally, JaNa’s two villa besties Leah Kateb and Serena Page went hard for their girl.
In addition to writing on her Instagram stories, Leah also commented on an older post Kenny made with her boyfriend Miguel Harichi. “Delete my man off your page you clout demon,” she commented. While Kendall Washington didn’t respond to Kenny directly, he posted a video of himself dancing with JaNa to show his love and support.
Leah Kateb accused Kenny of being “racist” and a “scammer”
On her Instagram stories, Leah shared a screenshot of JaNa’s response to Kenny. She included her own message for Kenny as well. “Put a sock in it,” she wrote, “Tell the truth for once!” Leah accused Kenny of being “Racist, clout/money hungry, and a scammer since DAY 1!” Finally, she added that fans shouldn’t worry, because her BFF JaNa “is blessed and highly favored.”
Serena Page wrote a message to the fans
Season 6 winner Serena Page wrote a message to the fans following the social media fallout. “Lets all remember this is not a show and someone’s actual feelings,” Serena wrote. “It may just be tea” for the fans, but that’s “not the case for us.” She continued, “Yall already know how im coming behind JaNa, and TRUST so does he.”
Olivia Walker called Kenny’s story “pathetic”
Sharing Kenny’s statement to her story, Olivia Walker also tore it apart. Liv called Kenny’s statement “laughable” and a “pathetic excuse for a story.”
Showing support for JaNa, she added, “I can’t even put into words how good of a person naynay is and how hard it is to watch her go through something like this.” Tagging Kenny, Liv said, “I hope this gives you the clout you always wanted you f*cking loser.”
In another Instagram story, Liv posted that she asked ChatGPT if Kenny’s statement was written by the AI, and it said yes.
Kaylor Martin supports “genuine soul” JaNa
Kaylor Martin may be feuding with Liv on Beyond the Villa, but they both agree on being Team JaNa. On her Instagram stories, Kaylor called Kenny a “poor excuse of a man.” She continued, “You lost the most beautiful genuine soul. Shame on you.”
JaNa’s BFF seemingly revealed what Kenny did to cause the breakup
The most damning statement yet came from a non-cast member. JaNa’s BFF Charmane Smith seemingly revealed what Kenny did on her own Instagram.
In a since-deleted story, Charmane wrote, “My advice for women in relationships: if you have access – go thru your man’s phone TODAY. Search keywords like ‘I don’t like black women, I thought I would get more money from this, I’m faking this relationship, going on the show would be for clout, I can’t wait to be done with this so I can f*ck hella bitches.” YIKES.
Those allegations are horrific, to say the least. If Charmane’s account is true, that explains why JaNa called Kenny “disgusting” and why Leah called him “racist.” At this time, Kenny has yet to respond to allegations about the racist content of his texts. Meanwhile, we’re glad to see how much love and support JaNa has from her friends, co-stars, and fans.
