Lindsay Lohan’s Hollywood Comeback Might Not Be Smooth, Says Source

Lindsay Lohan‘s big comeback in Hollywood may reportedly not be smooth amid the release of the highly anticipated film “Freakier Friday.” The actor-singer stepped away from the industry when she left the United States and moved to Dubai. She lives there with her husband, Bader Shammas, and their son, Luai. Over the past few years, Lohan has slowly been stepping back into the spotlight. Now, according to a new report, the awaited sequel of the 2003 film “Freaky Friday” is the Disney icon’s “last shot” at making a comeback in Hollywood.

A new report claims Lindsay Lohan’s latest film, “Freakier Friday,” is her “last shot” at making her Hollywood comeback. Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop exclusively learned from insiders that the pressure is high for the 39-year-old actor’s career. A source close to the production stated that “this isn’t just another role.” Instead, they described the film as Lohan’s “last shot at a Hollywood return.”

The source alleged that if the “Freaky Friday” sequel does not turn out to be a “hit,” the Disney icon will be “done.” The #ShuterScoop report also stated that although Lohan has given a strong performance, the film might still struggle at the box office. A reviewer said, “It leans too heavily on the original.” They explained that “Freakier Friday” is “fun,” but it is “thin.” The reviewer stated that Lohan is the “best thing in it.”

However, they also argued that it “may not be enough.” A #ShuterScoop insider further alleged that there is “no next opportunity lined up” for Lohan. They added that if the film doesn’t receive a positive response from the audience, the actor will be “back making holiday movies on Hallmark channel.” In the last few years, Lohan has starred in Netflix’s Christmas features. This includes “Falling for Christmas,” “Irish Wish,” and “Our Little Secret.”

Meanwhile, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis’ “Freakier Friday” finally hits the theaters this weekend on August 8.
