Prince Harry Will Have To Bow Down to Prince William To Fix Rift, Says Expert

The alleged feud between Prince Harry and Prince William is one of the most widely discussed topics regarding the royal family. Experts recently shared more insights into the brothers’ relationship as of now. From their observations, the siblings’ reconciliation isn’t looking too promising. An expert claimed that they can only fix the rift if the Duke of Sussex bows down and initiates an apology to his elder brother.

Prince Harry will reportedly have to take the first step towards Prince William if the brothers want the alleged feud to be fixed. Reports of problems within the royal family increased significantly after the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down from their duties in 2020. Since then, the couple has publicly talked about the rift through interviews, the 40-year-old’s memoir “Spare,” and their Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan.”

While Prince Harry has reportedly expressed hopes of reconciliation with his family, insiders told PEOPLE that his calls and messages to Prince William haven’t been answered. Author Robert Lacey called the brothers’ rift “very profound and very long-lasting.” The expert believed that their equation would only change if the Duke of Sussex “makes a move and apologizes.”

Historian Amanda Foreman claimed that personal preferences and expectations from individuals are making the siblings’ reconciliation “impossible.” A source close to the royal family told the outlet that the duo isn’t supporting each other like they should. However, their mother, the late Princess Diana, would have wanted them to help each other.

Meanwhile, Princess Diana’s biographer, Andrew Morton, believed that the late Princess of Wales “would have tried to act as a peacemaker between them.” They added, “If she had been around, they would have worked things out in a different way.”

While a reconciliation with Prince William seems difficult, rumors of Prince Harry reuniting with his father, King Charles, rose after their respective royal aides had a meeting in London last month. PEOPLE reported that the father-son duo could meet face-to-face when the Duke of Sussex visits the U.K. to fulfill his duties as the patron of the charity WellChild.
