Matt Damon seems to be embracing the Greek hero physique in a recent shirtless look in the Spanish sunshine of Ibiza. The Academy Award-winning actor was spotted during a holiday outing, where he looked extremely fit and toned. On the work front, Damon will soon appear as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film adaptation of Homer’s classic.
Matt Damon spotted shirtless in Ibiza outing
A hectic work schedule and age seem to have little impact on the fitness of the 54-year-old Bourne franchise star.
In recent shirtless photos shared by Backgrid USA on Instagram, Matt Damon looked extremely fit with a toned set of abs and bulging muscles. Most of this is definitely due to his upcoming role as Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey, which is set to arrive in theaters worldwide on July 17, 2026.

Damon was on vacation, accompanied by his wife, Luciana Barroso, and some of his friends. The group also included American businessman and philanthropist Ted Waitt. The Good Will Hunting actor’s physical transformation for his upcoming movie is quite stark compared to his last on-screen appearances.
The Odyssey will also require a lot of physicality from the actor. Hence, this is perhaps one of the reasons he is maintaining this a muscular body now. The first look of the epic fantasy film also featured quite a muscular Matt Damon.
As one of the biggest movie projects currently in development, The Odyssey will further star Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, and Jon Bernthal, among others. Most things about the movie, including what role each of the actors is playing, remain shrouded in mystery right now.
Apart from The Odyssey, Matt Damon has a couple of other projects coming up as well. He will star in The RIP, which is in post-production, and Animals.
