Sophie Turner recently reflected on an unusual challenge she faced with her former Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington while working on The Dreadful.

Appearing on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Turner revealed that filming romantic scenes with Harington was deeply uncomfortable, describing the experience as “vile.” The two had previously played siblings Sansa Stark and Jon Snow across all eight seasons of Game of Thrones.

Turner, who is both the lead star and a producer on the film, recalled how she personally suggested Harington to writer-director Natasha Kermani. She said, “So, I sent the script to Kit, and he kind of sent me a message back going like, ‘Yeah, I’d love to, but this is going to be really f*****g weird, Soph.’”

At first, Turner was confused why Harington felt that way, until she reread the script and realized the problem. She recalled, “Then I was reading [the script] and it’s like, ‘Kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex…’ And then I’m like, ‘Oh, shoot, that’s my brother.’”

Despite their hesitation, both actors agreed the script was too strong to pass up. Talking about their first kissing scene on set, Turner said, “We are both retching. Like, really, it is vile — it was the worst.  It was the worst, another really bad moment in my career.”

Host Seth Meyers then asked her to compare the situation with being covered in live cockroaches while shooting Trust. Without hesitation, Turner replied that kissing Harington had been worse. “Yeah. Yeah, it was. I have to be honest, it was bad,” she said.
