MrBeast, Adin Ross, xQc break world record
Adin Ross, MrBeast, and xQc have officially set a new Guinness World Record after raising $12 million during a single livestream. MrBeast partnered with YouTuber Mark Rober earlier in August to launch the initiative. It aimed to raise $40 million by the end of the month. On August 14, he joined forces with Ross and xQc for a Kick event that would not end until their target was reached.
Initially, the group set a $5 million goal. However, after hitting that benchmark earlier than expected, the total was raised to $12 million. By August 15, the challenge was completed. In the final stretch, when donations stood at $11.5 million, Airbnb co-founder Brian Chesky personally called MrBeast to announce the company’s $500,000 contribution.
During the stream itself, MrBeast highlighted the impact of the donations. He explained, “Guys, that is 12 million years of clean water for people in need. Or put differently, that is clean water for hundreds of thousands of humans for decades each.” Ross also emphasized that every small contribution from viewers had a collective impact. (via The Wrap)
Following the event, MrBeast celebrated on social media by noting that his very first livestream had become the most successful charity broadcast ever recorded. xQc also posted his reaction. The Canadian wrote, “This went way bigger than we anticipated but we got it done. $12,000,000 raised for charity. Major thanks to everyone who showed up, watched, donated, participated, produced etc. Looking forward to seeing someone beat this record.”
The $12 million collected by MrBeast, Ross, and xQc surpassed the amount raised during Z Event 2021. That earlier campaign, organized by French streamers ZeratoR and Dach, had brought in $11,972,930.19 across three days to support charitable causes.
