Fans often overanalyze Taylor Swift’s words and actions, but could some scattered hints during her podcast appearance last week indicate that she will perform at this season’s NFL Super Bowl? Here is why many fans believe this could be a real possibility.
Here’s why fans think Taylor Swift will be performing at the Super Bowl
There is no official confirmation or direct hint that the “Lover” singer will perform at the next Super Bowl. However, some NFL fans seemed to have deciphered something from her latest podcast appearance, though the link may be a bit too far-fetched.
The Super Bowl LX will take place on February 14, 2027. As there is ample time, there is no announcement yet about the Halftime Show’s headline act. But with Taylor Swift’s new album coming, which she announced on the New Heights podcast last week, and her famous relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce, her Super Bowl appearance does not seem far-fetched.
There are some cryptic details in the podcast that fans are linking to this prospect. Swift revealed in the podcast that she has a new hobby, sourdough-making. She said, “I’m just, like, always baking bread and texting my friends and being like, ‘Can I send you some bread? I need some feedback. Do you like this one better than you liked the other one? Like, I did the rise a little differently.”
The Grammy winner also said that she is thinking about Sourdough making “60%” of her time now. While these two statements seem quite normal, Jessica Benson pointed out on her podcast that they could be cryptic messages. The Super Bowl will be taking place at the San Francisco 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, whose mascot is Sourdough Sam.
Moreover, Swift saying she is thinking about it 60% of her time could also be a hint. This is because it is the 60th edition of the Super Bowl. Additionally, the “Fortnight” songstress thanked Jason Kelce for screaming for “47 seconds” when she debuted on the podcast. Fans believe this, too, is a hint, as Levi’s Stadium was the 47th venue during Swift’s Eras Tour.
Usually, the performer at the Super Bowl is announced long before the event, in September. So, fans will find out soon enough anyway if Taylor Swift is performing in the grand event.
Meanwhile, Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, will come out in October 2025.
