Wendy Williams Fighting To Get Rid of Conservatorship

Wendy Williams is still fighting for her life. The legendary talk show host and radio star has been held under a conservatorship for three years under claims that she is suffering from dementia. Meanwhile, Wendy insists that she’s fine, and her lawyers are pushing to overturn it.

Wendy underwent a medical exam, which upheld her guardianship. She was re-diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and aphasia, but Wendy and those around her urge that there’s more to the story.

Wendy spent the weekend eating at Tucci (the restaurant that Sonja Morgan is blacklisted from) and phoned Page Six, along with the restaurant owner, Max Tucci. During the conversation, Wendy continued to advocate for herself and insisted that she was back to normal.

“Do I sound like I have dementia to you?” she asked.

The outlet noted that she did sound like “the old Wendy” during their conversation. A source close to Wendy also spoke to the outlet, and they refuted the ongoing reports that she is suffering from dementia. According to them, Wendy is in a great place, and the conservatorship prevents her from living as a free woman.

“She seems fine. She’s witty and is getting healthier. It’s like old Wendy,” a source added.

Wendy is currently living in a facility, and she’s trying to maintain a sense of normalcy by dining out at restaurants, attending church on Sundays, and doing things that a free person would do. However, she won’t stop fighting until she’s completely free from the restrictive guardianship.

“Her focus is she wants out. She wants an apartment in New York. She wants to be back in society,” the insider noted.

They continued, “She wants to be able to go get bagels and lox, just the simple pleasures.”

According to the insiders, Wendy is feeling confident that she will get out of the conservatorship. She has two attorneys, Allan Diamond and Joe Tacopina, working on the case. Wendy said they’re feeling “highly upset” about the recent dementia re-diagnosis and remain committed to freeing her.

For now, Wendy’s conservatorship remains intact until at least November 2025. At that point, she and her team are hopeful they can free her from this mess. Their goal is to have Wendy back to normal life by the time winter comes.
