Just when you thought you knew the details about Hulk Hogan’s death, here comes a twist to the story.
The wrestler died at 71 earlier this summer after suffering cardiac arrest. Emergency personnel responded to a 911 call at his home. However, his widow, Sky Daily, says that a recent surgery left her husband vulnerable. She believes his death could have been the result of medical malpractice.
Hulk Hogan’s widow Sky confirmed his phrenic nerve was “compromised” during surgery

Sources close to the Clearwater Police Department told TMZ that there was an occupational therapist at Hulk’s home when he stopped breathing. Allegedly, that therapist told first responders Hulk was the victim of medical malpractice. They said a surgeon “severed” his phrenic nerve during a recent operation. Sky later confirmed with the outlet that his nerve was “compromised.”
There’s no word on what procedure Hulk was having done that led to the surgery, but the phrenic nerve story aligns with Hulk’s cause of death. The phrenic nerve stimulates the diaphragm, and TMZ’s sources said that Hulk just suddenly stopped breathing the day he died.
Sky told the outlet that an autopsy had been performed, but the details are under wraps. With questions lingering about Hulk’s death, she also noted that his body had not yet been cremated. The family can’t properly mourn.
Meanwhile, the Clearwater Police Department noted that the investigation into Hulk’s death remains ongoing. They’ve been in communication with the entire family and are interviewing witnesses to learn more about the wrestler’s death.
“The unique nature of this case has required us to interview multiple witnesses and seek medical records from a variety of providers, and our detectives continue to do that. All of this takes time,” the cops said in a statement.
