Lil Nas X was caught strolling around nearly nude before the altercation
Before his arrest, Lil Nas X was caught on video strutting through the streets of Los Angeles. He was wearing just white underwear and cowboy boots. It was around 4 a.m., and the musician was alone.
In footage obtained by TMZ, he can be seen singing and engaging with the fan filming him. “Don’t be late to the party tonight,” he says, before catwalking and putting a traffic cone on his head.
A number of reports were made to the police. The Los Angeles Police Department is reported to have arrived around two hours later. Things then allegedly took an unfortunate turn. The Grammy winner ended up being arrested for battery of a police officer, a source told Page Six.
We now know that Lil Nas X, 26, had allegedly punched an officer twice in the face. He was hospitalized for a possible drug overdose before being booked at Van Nuys Jail at 11:22 a.m.
While it’s fair to say Lil Nas X has always been a bit eccentric, his recent antics have been causing some concern among fans. The musician recently wiped his Instagram account and began posting strange photos and videos showing an apartment in disarray and with writing on the walls. On one post he wrote the caption: “OH NO sHES GONE MAD! CRAZY I TELL U!”
The rapper, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, has previously opened up about his use of drugs, admitting use of both psychedelic mushrooms and weed. There were concerns over his health earlier this year.
